Have you noticed the persistent presence of seagulls on your roof or in your chimney across the summer?
Seagulls can be very intrusive birds with their loud calls, unsociable scavenging and seagull mess. And no one wants them nesting in their chimney, that’s a given.
Bird-Proofing
Here at Arrest The Pest, we have had a number of calls about bird-proofing seagull nests this autumn. Seagulls tend to migrate towards coastal waters as winter approaches, so now is the time to act.
The best time to de-nest and proof buildings, outbuildings and chimneys is in the autumn, at the end of nesting season.
Returning each year
Seagulls tend to return to the same place they nested the previous year, so if you prioritise proofing your chimneys and other attractive and warm spots for seagulls, then come April when they return, they’ll be unable to nest.
Autumn is the time to act! With proper bird-proofing in place, gulls will abandon your building altogether.
